Mad King Thorn Hat Pattern
This was my entry for the 2010 Halloween art contest, but alas, it was not picked. However, I really wanted to share this pattern with the GW community in case someone wanted to make it, so /newthread! :3

I think I still have yellow and orange yarn left over from making my boyfriend's Jayne hate. If I have enough, I might just give this a try XD Even though I am fail at colorwork. Excuse to really give it a try!
What was the yardage per skein that you used, and how much of each skein was actually used up?

I don't have a scale, but (being generous) I'd say I used under 200yds of the orange, under 100yds of the yellow, and very, very little of the green. Sorry I cannot be more exact! Each skein is 355yds and I have about half of the orange and 3/4s of the yellow left.

That's fine! I'm not a very precise knitter anyway XD Just a rough estimate is all I was looking for.
Also, sorry for the annoying questions, but what weight did you use? Sport or worsted?
(curious so that I can substitute in my own yarns - the only day I usually have free to go to Hobby Lobby is Sunday...and they're closed)
Edit: Never mind, poked around on Hobby Lobby's website and can see that it's the worsted weight.

D'aww, this is so cute! I wish I could knit, and wholly understand the chart. Dx How difficult a skill is it to pick up? Totally want to make a beanie for my boyfriends' birthday.

Eeks - knitting is actually really easy to learn. I learned a few years ago with the videos from this site. It can be tricky to get the hang of but once you do it's literally just a case of everything building on two stitches. And it's fun

Thanks Verene~ That's pretty reassuring. I think my sister still has a pair of knitting needles uh, somewhere. I'll look into it.
Screw my boyfriend, I'm knitting a bunch of Mad King beanies for my co-workers. Pumpkins go hand-in-hand with Japanese bars, right? XD

Amazing work! Must get this pattern sent to my grandmother who never has a clue what to give me as a gift! This will make her day that I actually request a knitwork piece!
